Judicial Embrace
Roughly 500 people attended the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s annual luncheon on Tuesday at the Omni Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. LACBA’s Board of Trustees selected U.S. District Judge Margaret M. Morrow for the 2010 Outstanding Jurist Award for her significant contributions to the improvement of the legal community through her judicial ability, temperament and knowledge of the law. Morrow has served as president of the association and the Barristers Division. In her role as president of the association, she spearheaded passage of a pro bono policy that was adopted by law firms throughout Los Angeles as well as litigation guidelines that were adopted by the Los Angles Superior Court and the Central District as the standard of civility. While she was in charge of the Barristers Division, she helped launch the Domestic Violence Counseling Project and AIDS Legal Services Project.
