TOM HIXSON is a partner in Bingham McCutchen's San Francisco office. He handles a range of commercial litigation matters, including antitrust and consumer class actions and litigation in the telecommunications and energy industries. Mr. Hixson regularly defends cases brought under California's principal consumer protection laws. He also counsels clients concerning antitrust and unfair competition laws and regulation by state and federal agencies. He is the vice chair for publications of the California State Bar's Antitrust and Unfair Competition Section Executive Committee.

      COLIN WEST is a partner in Bingham McCutchen's San Francisco office. His practice focuses on commercial disputes, with an emphasis on antitrust and other complex litigation. He also frequently performs antitrust counseling for clients in the United States and in the Pacific Rim. Mr. West is chair of the Antitrust and Business Regulation Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco, and is a frequent contributor to the publications by the Civil Practice and Procedure Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Antitrust Law.

      JESSE MARKHAM is a partner and co-chair of Holme Roberts & Owen's Antitrust Practice. He was recently appointed the Marshall P. Madison Professor of Law and the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he teaches antitrust law and other courses. Mr. Markham helped establish antitrust enforcement in Russia and the Ukraine and is a leading authority on China's recently-enacted anti-monopoly law. He previously served as a chair of Morrison & Foerster's Antitrust practice and as deputy attorney general for California and Massachusetts.

      JOSEPH R. SAVERI is a partner at Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein. He has antitrust experience in numerous industries, including commercial explosives, computer software, energy, x-ray film, baby food, transportation, dairy, retailing, entertainment, glass, packaging, cosmetics, vitamins, and agricultural products. His jury trial experience includes cases of price-fixing brand-name prescription drugs, carpets, and travel agent commissions. Mr. Saveri is co-author of California Antitrust Law published by the State Bar's Antitrust and Unfair Competition Section and a contributor to the California Class Action treatise.

      SEAN GATES is a partner at Morrison & Foerster. His practice focuses on antitrust litigation, with emphasis on matters involving the intersection of antitrust and intellectual property. Mr. Gates previously served as a deputy assistant director at the Federal Trade Commission. He was the Commission's lead trial counsel in Realcomp II. He was also trial counsel in two precedent-setting FTC cases involving standard setting: Unocal (representing the Commission) and Rambus (representing the respondent).
