Tips & Tricks

When I'm reading material on a website, I don't want to see onscreen movement out of the corner of my eye. Fortunately, I don't. For a while I used Mozdev.org's Flashblock add-on for Firefox, which blocks all Macromedia Flash content from downloading but provides a placeholder so you can reactivate Flash files that are desirable. Now I use the more powerful, precise, and flexible AdBlock Plus add-on, also from Mozdev.org. I also installed the Adblock Filterset G Update (a filter set is like a blacklist). Both add-ons are free (addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/)
