Some of us pros spend way too much time thinking about junk mail, so that you won't have to lose sleep over it. Here's the primer: In Outlook, always check your Junk Mail folder. When you find messages from non-junkers there, add their addresses to your Safe Senders list (go to Actions, Junk Mail, and select Add Sender to Safe Senders List). And if junk messages make it to your Inbox, go to Actions, Junk Mail, and select Add Sender to Blocked Senders List. Microsoft has seeded your Blocked Senders List with a frequently updated blacklist. Make sure you update it frequently: Go to Microsoft's Download Center (www.microsoft.com/ downloads) and search the keywords Outlook junk. Usually the first result is Update for Outlook 2003 Junk E-mail Filter. If you're beyond hip and you're using Office 2007, seek and ye shall find.
