On Sunday, an estimated 400 riders participated in the Malibu Canyons Gran Fondo Charity Ride at Saddlerock Ranch and Winery. The event benefited Livestrong. The charity ride was created and organized by Zia Modabber, a partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, and raised more than $100,000 for charity. Other Katten staff members volunteered to help out at the rest stop. The Malibu Canyons Gran Fondo provided cyclists with three challenging routes (17 miles, 40 miles and 56 miles) through the Malibu mountains. Ride sponsors included the law firm of Katten Muchin Rosenman, RadioShack, Helen’s Cycles, Santa Monica Orthopedic Group and PowerBar.
