Last Saturday, the Orange County chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators hosted Volunteer Day, a part of its community service initiative, dubbed "Community Challenge Weekend."
Friends and family members joined members of OC Association of Legal Administrators to be part of a community service project in which more than 90 volunteers worked to restore gardens and refurbish playground equipment for the Blind Children's Learning Center in Santa Ana. The association also worked to improve the Learning Center's Sensory Garden, which is intended to highlight the sense of smell and touch for people who are visually impaired.
"My good friend and fellow OC-ALA member, Joyce Kopenski was the Chair of the Community Challenge Weekend event this year, and she was tasked with finding an inspiring organization that supports families or children," said Sheri Clifton, OC-ALA board president, in a recent statement. "We decided to support the Blind Children's Learning Center, who Joyce has personal experience with and members of her firm, AlvaradoSmith, have supported for several years."
