The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in downtown Los Angeles was abuzz on June 24 as 500 members of the legal community gathered for the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s installation dinner and awards ceremony. Incoming president Alan K. Steinbrecher acknowledged the outstanding work of the evening’s honorees, including Richard Walch of Walch Consulting, who accepted the Shattuck-Price outstanding lawyer award. The organization’s highest honor, the Shattuck-Price award is given intermittently to individuals who show extraordinary dedication and contributions to the legal profession. Public service awards were presented to Frank G. Blundo Jr. of Dispute Resolution Services; Gina Chi Lo of Immigration Legal Assistance Project; Dana M. Douglas of the Domestic Violence Project; and Patricia McCabe of AIDS Legal Services Project. Helen B. Kim of Katten Muchin Rosenman accepted the Patricia D. Phillips outstanding committee service award.
