The Los Angeles chapter of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers on Tuesday hosted a discussion of the Broadcom stock option prosecution for a night billed as "The Story Behind the Trial." The lawyers offered their analysis of why a federal judge in Orange County in December spontaneously acquitted one defendant, and threw out guilty pleas, civil charges and pending indictments against the remaining defendants. Richard Marmaro, of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, represented former Broadcom chief financial officer William Ruehle -- the only defendant to face trial. He is pictured, right, with Jeff Horn of RBC Wealth Managment. The other panel members were James R. Asperger, of Quinn Emanuel Urquhardt Oliver & Hedges, and Seth Aronson, of O'Melveny & Myers, who represented former Broadcom general counsel David A. Dull.
