Glaser Weil LLP

Glaser’s clients have experienced life’s ups and downs; it’s her job to fight for them when the going gets tough. None of her clients knows the Game of Life better than Reuben Klamer. He invented it.

Glaser is defending the designer of the classic Hasbro board game against claims he owes his co creator millions of dollars in royalties. Markham Concepts Inc. v. Hasbro Inc., 1:15-cv-00419 (D. R.I., filed Oct. 2, 2015).

“It’s an odd case,” Glaser notes, explaining that the wife of the late co-creator brought the suit after he died. A trial is set for 2018.

Glaser exudes confidence. She doesn’t have time for nonsense. But sometimes her cases seem nonsensical.

She is representing Yashar Ali Hedayat, a reporter at HuffPost who wrote a story claiming that Fox News host Eric Bolling sent nude pictures to his colleagues. Bolling responded by filing a defamation suit against the reporter, who Glaser said wrote his story after speaking to 14 well-informed sources. How does she feel about this case? Confident.

“There’s this little annoying thing called freedom of the press,” she joked.

The suit is pending in New York. Home in California, she’s working on representing Himelsein Mandel Fund Management LLC in its suit alleging that Fortress Investment Group LLC breached fiduciary duty by failing to extend a $65 million credit facility, declaring an improper default and misappropriating proprietary information.

Glaser suffered a minor setback when the judge granted partial summary judgment to Fortress, but the case is on appeal. Mandel Fund Management LLC v. Fortress Investment Group LLC, BC495595 (L.A. Super. Ct., filed Nov. 13, 2012).
