Commercial litigation

Production studios often claim that even successful television shows lose money after expenses are deducted. Holscher convinced a state jury otherwise in a trend-setting case between actor Don Johnson and a company that produced the show "Nash Bridges." Johnson claimed he was stiffed out of millions of dollars in profits, but the production company claimed they had yet to make profits on the show, which ran from 1996 to 2001. Following a two-week trial in Los Angeles County Superior Court, a jury took only hours to return a $23.2 million verdict in favor of Johnson, and the judge on the case has more than doubled that amount in interest. Holscher also represented sports agency powerhouse IMG World in a dispute with a former agent who left the company, joined a rival agency and sued to void a non-compete clause. Holscher guided IMG to a settlement that ended the dispute earlier this month.
