Corporate, global private equity
Saggese, who is the co-head of Skadden's global private equity practice, has handled matters ranging from private equity M&A transactions to large restructurings. Saggese is currently advising the movie studio MGM Studios Inc. on its restructuring. He represented Microsoft Corp. co-founder Paul Allen, principal shareholder of Charter Communications Inc., in one of the nation's largest prearranged bankruptcies to date. The court approved the Chapter 11 restructuring in November 2009. Saggese also worked as part of a team on an unusually large prepackaged bankruptcy solicitation on behalf of the commercial lender CIT Group Inc. CIT emerged from bankruptcy 40 days after filing, reducing its debt by about $10.5 billion. The reorganization plan was confirmed by the court in December 2009.
