State Bar immediate past president
Only the third woman to hold the position, Holly Fujie spent her year as State Bar president crisscrossing the state speaking to law school students and lawyers' groups about fostering women and minorities in the legal profession. Among other things, Fujie helped create a program, done in conjunction with local women's bars around the state, to help dispel the notion that women can't have families and successful legal careers. "You Can Do It! Successful Women Lawyers Discuss Combining Legal Careers and Families" has already been held at 15 law schools and is poised to become an ongoing program.
