White-collar defense, securities litigation
Hennigan represented Irvine-based chipmaker Broadcom Corp. in a criminal investigation. He also defended the grand rabbi of Spinka, leader of a Hasidic sect within Orthodox Judaism, in a federal prosecution alleging tax fraud and international money laundering. Hennigan negotiated a plea agreement on behalf of the rabbi, who faces up to three years in prison at his November sentencing. He also represents the ex-administrator of the San Diego City Employment Retirement System in a federal criminal case. On the civil side, he was on the winning side in a dispute within Monrovia Nursery, a family-owned corporation whose members were suing each other. Hennigan, the national chair of the American Bar Association's White Collar Crime Committee, is rumored to be among the finalists for U.S. attorney for the Central District of California.
