Litigation

A nationally renown trial lawyer, Keker is defending Charles H. Wilk, a former tax lawyer with Seattle investment management firm the Quellos Group, in perhaps the largest tax shelter case in U.S. history. Prosecutors allege Wilk hid for his clients $1.3 billion in capital gains from the Internal Revenue Service. Keker also is defending former KB Home CEO Bruce Karatz against criminal stock options backdating charges in federal court in Los Angeles in a trial set for February. Earlier this year, Keker was lead counsel on the trial team that won an Internet rights and breach-of-contract case for Univision Communications Inc. against Mexican media company Televisa.
