Intellectual property litigation and transactional work

Ostrow scored large settlements and put together complicated business deals for technology companies in and around the Silicon Valley this year. He settled a $70 million patent infringement case on behalf of network equipment-maker 3Com Corp. against rival Realtek Semiconductor Corp. in the U.S. Northern District Court in San Francisco. Ostrow also spent the past year helping SiRF Technology Holdings Inc. in a cross-border, stock-for-stock merger with CSR, and he is currently defending SiRF in the state's Central District Court in an ongoing patent litigation case with Broadcom Corp. His recent transactional work includes representing underwriters in connection with Oracle's $4.5 billion investment-grade note offerings to finance the proposed acquisition of Sun Microsystems Inc.
