This leading authority on Internet and media law literally wrote the book on spam lawsuits. "The Complete CAN-SPAM Act Practice Guide" will be published by West this month. It's a work inspired by experience. Recently, as lead counsel for Internet giant MySpace, he won the largest CAN-SPAM damages ever - about $230 million - and won the first damages ever under California's anti-phishing statute. He has also done work for eBay, Fox, Sony and the McClatchy Co. When he's not representing plaintiffs against online nogoodniks, he is executive director of Stanford Law School's Center for E-Commerce and this year joined the board of advisers for the school's program in law, science and technology.
