Buchalter Nemer | Los Angeles

Three may just be Fujie's lucky number. In July, she was elected the State Bar's third woman president, the end to a race that, fittingly, pitted three female candidates against one another. As if her role on the Board of Governors hadn't kept her busy enough, Fujie spent the past year as chair of the bar's Regulation, Admissions and Discipline Oversight Committee. Under her leadership, the committee tackled a number of divisive proposals: among them a requirement that lawyers disclose whether they carry malpractice insurance and, recently, a mechanism to place discipline charges against attorneys online.
