As the executive director of Bet Tzedek, he has worked tirelessly to secure justice for 10,000 aging Holocaust survivors. The organization's Holocaust Survivors Justice Network that he oversees is helping to distribute more than $30 million in reparations from the government of Germany. Also, as president of the board of the Legal Aid Association of California, he spearheaded the passage of AB 1723, a measure that will increase state funding for legal services programs for low-income communities for decades to come, so residents can receive vital legal information, advice and assistance.
