A group of attorneys and staff members from the Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis LLP LA office took part in the Ketchum-Downtown YMCA Stair Climb for Los Angeles event Sept. 22, joining an anticipated 4,000 participants who climbed 75 stories at the U.S. Bank Tower.
The fundraiser brought in a total of more than $675,000 for downtown YMCA community programs, which include preschool for 3- to 5-year-olds, an after-school program at Hoover Elementary, and summer camp at Camp Whittle in Big Bear.
Participants who completed the 1,664-step climb were treated to live music, games, food trucks and a beer garden after returning to street level by elevator from the 1,000-foot bank tower’s observation deck.
The Allen Matkins squad raised $2,875, according to the event website. Firm partner Charles D. “Chuck” Jarrell is chairman of the Ketchum-Downtown YMCA board and has served as the facility’s stair climb event chair for five years.
