Reddock Law Group

Angela J. Reddock-Wright

Reddock-Wright has successfully pivoted her labor and employment background into training companies and organizations on how to handle workplace issues. That’s especially prescient considering the sea change since the #MeToo movement, as companies are trying to modernize their workplace policies.

“I spend a lot of time updating and enhancing their policies,” said Reddock-Wright, who founded the Reddock Law Group in 2011.

She works often with the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, helping enhance their polices with regard to reporting harassment. The biggest concern she hears from employees is fear of retaliation, but Reddock-Wright said she seeks to quell those fears by saying an organization’s policies often protect workers from retaliation.

Reddock-Wright said the training has worked, resulting in a steady increase of complaints.

“Due to educated individuals who may not have felt comfortable in the past for [fear of] retaliation, they’re feeling more empowered and more protected in coming forward,” she said.

Companies overall are taking swifter, more decisive responses to such incidents, she said.

“We’re seeing organizations taking strong and bold steps to remove the individual. It filters down and is causing some other companies to take steps,” said Reddock-Wright. “Companies are being much more proactive to ensure their policies aren’t just words on paper.”

Meanwhile, Reddock-Wright is involved in streamlining construction projects as Los Angeles County prepares to undergo a major modernization through a number of developments, from Los Angeles International Airport to stadiums in Inglewood.

Reddock-Wright serves on a board that oversees a construction compliance program tasked with meeting local hires. It’s part of a multi-billion-dollar construction program that will modernize much of LAX. She sees the ballooning construction as a way to build a new middle class in Los Angeles.

“I am really happy top use my background as an employment lawyer to work on projects and with clients that are moving the needle in impacting the workplace in California and beyond. It is exciting times for me,” said Reddock-Wright.
