David L. Aronoff joined Baker & Hostetler LLP in Los Angeles, the firm announced Monday. Aronoff is the third first chair trial attorney to join the firm's West Coast offices in the last two months.
Aronoff, now partner in BakerHostetler's litigation practice, joined the firm after 13 years at Winston & Strawn LLP.
"I was attracted to Baker because of its growing footprint on the West Coast combined with top legal talent and a very collegial culture. The opportunity to be part of the growth in the West Coast was pretty appealing to me," Aronoff said.
A litigator with 30 years of experience, Aronoff handles securities and consumer class actions with an emphasis on advertising claims.
"He's a skilled litigator, trial attorney and negotiator, and I've seen it all up front for the last decade. So, this isn't one of those situations where you're recruiting a lateral and you're making an educated calculation for success, I've seen David in action and he's just such a great lawyer. We're so fortunate to have him join us," said Eric E. Sagerman, managing partner of Baker & Hostetler's Los Angeles office.
Sagerman worked alongside Aronoff at Winston & Strawn prior to joining Baker & Hostetler in January of last year.
"David's addition is definitely an important step in our goal to build a destination trial practice on the West Coast, which we're aiming to do," Sagerman said.
Baker & Hostetler's announced Aronoff joined one week after it welcomed Jeewon K. Serrato as co-lead of the new digital transformation and data economy team.
Serrato joined the firm's recently opened San Francisco office, which is led by another recent hire, Robb C. Adkins, also formerly with Winston & Strawn.
