Rayfield’s motivating force is giving her clients a voice and a chance to be heard.

“At the end of the case when they feel like someone finally heard them and someone is having to be accountable for what happened to them, I mean that’s what really keeps you going each day,” she said.

Rayfield has advised plaintiffs in cases related to product liability, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, business torts, legal malpractice and sexual abuse.

“I’m a competitor, I’m a fighter and I don’t scare easily. I will push for my clients to the end and because I do love going to trial, I’m not going to be scared off or going try to get my client to take less just because I don’t want to go to trial,” she added.

Rayfield’s fighting spirit has helped her secure notable verdicts including a $1.75 million settlement for a student athlete who was sexually abused by a Torrance High School wrestling coach, which earned her the 2018 Street Fighter of the Year by the Consumer Attorneys of California. This year, she was the first lawyer to file lawsuits in New York on the behalf of two clients, who allege Syracuse University, Syracuse Public School District and Camp Greylock gave an athletic coach access to sexually abuse young students, campers and athletes.

Last year, she obtained a $2.6 million jury verdict for her client Delia Flores in Delia Flores v. ConvergeOne Inc. et al., CIVDS1620468 (S.B. Super. Ct., Dec. 5, 2016), a case related to a head on collision that took place in 2016 that is still pending on appeal.

Outside of her practice, Rayfield is a member of the board of governors of the American Association for Justice and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. She is also a sidebar member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

“I want to be a voice for people who have been injured and I want to fight for people to get justice,” she added. “I can’t even imagine not representing plaintiffs. I hate the idea of companies and individuals hurting people and not being held accountable for it.”
