Signature Resolution opens office in San Diego

The alternative dispute resolution firm Signature Resolution announced Monday it has expanded its services with a new office in San Diego.

It will be at 12730 High Bluff Drive in the Del Mar Heights neighborhood.

"We're excited for the opportunity to provide our alternative dispute resolution services locally to parties in San Diego," Dario Higuchi, Signature Resolution's managing director, said in a statement. "With a physical presence [in San Diego] and a range of amenities, this office gives us the chance to help attorneys and their clients in this region to resolve their disputes fairly and quickly, in person."

Scott Slater Markus, an attorney-mediator since 1992, and retired judge Margo Lewis Hoy, who spent 11 years on the superior court, will help open the San Diego office.

Markus will serve as a mediator for cases involving employment, professional liability, catastrophic injury, real property and business disputes. He has worked with Fortune 500 companies, insurance companies and government agencies and with consumer attorneys throughout Southern California.

Markus' mediation participants have reached settlements ranging from non-monetary agreements to resolutions as high $20 million, according to the firm.

Hoy, who was a practicing attorney for 18 years before joining the San Diego County Superior Court, will handle disputes in all areas of family law. She served as the supervising judge of the family law division in San Diego until earlier this year.

Signature Resolution's new office has a full-service cafe, a lounge for its neutrals, state-of-the-art conference rooms, and rooms with video conferencing equipment.

"Opening a physical office in San Diego was important to us, and we're eager to welcome new and existing clients into our new space and give them the resolutions they deserve," Higuchi said.

Signature Resolution was established in 2017 in Los Angeles and is comprised a panel of neutrals from diverse backgrounds, including judges and trial attorneys specializing in most areas of civil practice, the firm stated in a news release.
