• AB 338 (Ramos) This bill authorizes the construction and maintenance of a monument to the California Native people of the Sacramento, California, region on the grounds of the State Capitol, as specified. Additionally, this bill deletes the requirement that the Department of General Services (DGS) erect and maintain a monument to Father Junipero Serra on the grounds of the State Capitol. act to add Section 14634 to, and to repeal Section 13082 of, the Government Code, relating to the State Capitol.

• AB 379 (Gallagher) Authorizes the Department of Fish and Wildlife (DFW) and the Wildlife Conservation Board (WCB) to enter into agreements with and make grants or loans to California Native American tribes for various purposes related to fish and wildlife conservation. act to amend Section 1350 of the Fish and Game Code, relating to conservation.

• AB 627 (Waldron) This bill establishes procedures for California courts to recognize tribal court family law orders involving the division of retirement and other deferred compensation benefits. act to amend Sections 1731, 1733, 1735, 1736, and 1737 of, and to add Section 1733.1 to, the Code of Civil Procedure, and to add Section 2611 to the Family Code, relating to civil actions.

• AB 798 (Ramos) This bill authorizes federally recognized tribes to operate, inspect, maintain, and drive emergency vehicles used in responding to emergency calls for fire or law enforcement. act to amend Sections 165, 2501, 2510, and 12527 of the Vehicle Code, relating to vehicles.

• AB 957 (Salas) This bill ratifies two separate tribal-state gaming compacts between the State of California and the Middletown Rancheria of Pomo Indians of California and the Santa Rosa Indian Community of the Santa Rosa Rancheria. act to add Section 12012.102 to the Government Code, relating to tribal gaming, and declaring the urgency thereof, to take effect immediately.

• AB 1180 (Mathis) This bill expands the definition of “exempt surplus land” to include surplus land that a local agency transfers to a federally recognized California Indian tribe. act to amend Section 54221 of the Government Code, relating to local government.

• SB 302 (Dodd) This bill ratifies the tribal-state gaming compact between the State of California and the Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians of California. act to add Section 12012.103 to the Government Code, relating to tribal gaming, and declaring the urgency thereof, to take effect immediately.

• SB 712 (Hueso) This bill imposes requirements on local governments regarding comments on fee-to-trust applications by California federally recognized tribes. act to add Article 11 (commencing with Section 54260) to Chapter 5 of Part 1 of Division 2 of Title 5 of the Government Code, relating to local government.

• SB 816 (Committee on Governmental Organization) Amends the California Emergency Services Act to confirm the State’s authority to contract with California tribes for the purposes of providing mutual aid. act to amend Section 8561 of the Government Code, relating to emergency services.
