O’melveny & Myers LLP

As co-head of O'Melveny's Entertainment, Sports and Media Group, Amy Siegel oversees a team of lawyers who advise on high-profile film, television, music, digital media and sports legal matters.

But she said she's most proud of her role as mentor for junior members of her firm.

"Whether they remain at O'Melveny long term, or move on to pursue new opportunities, I enjoy staying connected and supporting their career development," she wrote in an email. "I'm very proud of those relationships, and every year I look forward to the arrival of our next group of new associates."

Her client roster reads like a Who's Who in the world of sports and entertainment, with names including Warner Bros., Paramount, BRON Studios and fuboTV. Siegel is a go-to for both established and emerging brands looking for a skilled negotiator in partnerships, endorsements and other legal matters, and she's also known for her ability to negotiate major million-dollar deals for her clients.

In a transaction that closed this year, Siegel was colead counsel for South Korean mass media company CJ ENM in its acquisition of an 80% stake in Endeavor Content from its parent company, Endeavor Group Holdings, for $850 million.

In other high-profile transactions, Siegel coled the O'Melveny team that represented ViacomCBS in closing its acquisition of a 49% stake in MIRAMAX for $375 million in April 2020, and colead counsel for Genius Sports in a multiyear deal to become the exclusive data provider for the National Football League.

She's also lead counsel for top Korean food company CJ CheilJedang on its multiyear global marketing partnership with the Los Angeles Lakers, beginning with the 2021-22 NBA season.

As for the best part of her job, Siegel said she loves how the world of entertainment, sports and media is constantly evolving.

"I love that I am able to problem solve and find creative solutions to help my clients develop and protect their businesses as the industry continues to change," she said.
