Alphonse Provinziano

Alphonse Provinziano leads the firm he founded in 2008 that includes seven other attorneys, all focusing on family law. Before that, he worked as a deputy district attorney in San Bernardino County.

“I enjoy the opportunity to help people through life’s most challenging difficulties -- divorce, child custody crisis and dealing with domestic violence issues,” he said.

In the appellate case of Johns v. Cummings, B313964, Provinziano’s $95,000 attorney’s fee award was upheld by the court of appeal after a hard-fought 5-day domestic violence trial against heavy metal singer and former Bad Wolves’ frontman Tommy Vext. Provinziano recently had a case in which a client was suffering unending harassment at the hands of an ex-spouse who was using secret methods to send harassing messages through the Internet. Through the use of private investigators and Our Family Wizard records, Provinziano was able to connect the ex’s IP address to the submission of harassing communications online, resulting in a restraining order in favor of his client and vindication for the abuse they had endured.

Provinziano is also an advocate for access to justice in family law. He believes that the lack of court reporters as a governmental requirement restricts access to justice for family law litigants. He argues that the need for the court to employ more court reporters, obtain additional court reporters, or replace them with high-quality audio recordings is an absolute necessity to ensure that important discussions related to custody, support, and domestic violence orders are easily accessible to family law litigants at every income level. Provinziano believes that new legislation is necessary to address this topic and ensure access to justice in all of California.

Provinziano is also a Daily Journal columnist writing about family law trends and issues. Some of his pieces are titled “Why some Californians may want to get divorced in Arizona” and “California’s transgender youth ‘safe haven’ Status is in jeopardy.”
