The Office of Chief Trial Counsel was the interested party, not the public, in the State Bar’s John Eastman trial
The State Bar of California filed misconduct charges against John Eastman regarding the 2020 election, but no member of the public complained.

The State Bar filed 11 misconduct charges against John Eastman with respect to the 2020 election. May it be noted no member of the “public” complained. Thus the “interested party” is the Office of the Chief Trial Counsel.
The Bar “protect[s] the public” from unethical lawyers. Are we 39 million Californians the “public,” or is everyone in the wide world the “public” under the wing of the State Bar?
The State Bar wastes dues money when it takes sides in a political battle, monitors elections far away after the dust settles, and demonizes losers. Eastman did not use his license in venues outside our borders.
One hopes the State Supreme Court will reject Judge Roland’s ultra vires decision against lawyer Eastman. Put the brakes on “mission creep.” Not turn lawyers away from representing clients in disfavor.
