SAN FRANCISCO - While clerking for 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Chief Judge Alex Kozinski in 2007 and 2008, David Thompson became such close friends with his co-clerks that he later officiated one of their weddings.
The friend didn't end up returning the favor on Thompson's big day, but "only" for one reason: The judge presided.
