MOUNTAIN VIEW - Joe FitzGerald was about two-thirds of the way through a five-year engineering program at Northeastern University when he realized he didn't want to be an engineer.
"Being a true design engineer is an art, and I think either you have it or you don't," FitzGerald said. "I think I would've been a fine engineer, but there's that special gift that certain engineers have."
