Robert Patison was working his first job out of law school - a small, now-defunct firm in Anaheim - when he met Forrest Lucas in 1985. It was the beginning of a business relationship that would change his life.
Lucas at the time was running a long-haul trucking business out of Indiana, but needed a lawyer in California to handle a legal flap related to some unpaid invoices.
