A. Guthrie Paterson III joined Trace3 Inc. during what he calls the company’s “cowboy days.”
He was the first in-house attorney — there was no formal finance department or human resources department. The company, incorporated in 2002, had enjoyed eight years of growth and, according to Paterson, it was time to start putting some formalities in place, starting with a lawyer.
