      LOS ANGELES - A female gang member pleaded no contest recently in the courtroom of Superior Court Judge Craig E. Veals. Her crime: second-degree robbery.
      Before the bailiff led her away, Veals told her about a female gang member he sentenced to two 25-years-to-life terms a couple of months ago. Her crime: murder.
