SANTA ANA - Most judges try to be considerate toward jurors. But Orange County Superior Court Judge Gary S. Paer has them all beat.

Paer was the first judge in the county to provide jurors with psychological counseling following a gruesome child molestation case. He was the first in the state to think of using restaurant-style pagers to signal jurors when to return to court after a recess. ... (continued)
