LOS ANGELES - The first time Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aurelio Munoz issued a death sentence, he had trouble focusing on the defendant as he read the litany of convictions from rape and sodomy to murder.
"It's so formal, you have to basically sit down and write a speech," Munoz said. "The sad part about it is you're so busy reading it, you don't ever have time to look at the guy.... (continued)
