TORRANCE — Judge Laura Ellison has spent her 20-year judicial career at the Torrance Courthouse, where she tries to give attorneys the whole day to their job.

"I give them a lot of trial time on a given day. That's one of the big advantages of being in a trial court," Ellison said. "I don't have to handle a calendar before I go do a trial."
