SACRAMENTO - Just a few months after returning from a deployment in the Middle East where he helped deal with the legal tangle of Iraq war detainees, James E. McFetridge landed a new assignment much closer to home. Now a Superior Court judge in Sacramento, McFetridge handles a busy family law calendar - an assignment that's a little less exotic but no less legally demanding than his military posting.
