Judge Matt Anderson juggles many duties as supervisor of the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach. But lawyers who practice there say he always has time for the parties in his court, especially drug court defendants trying to stay on the straight and narrow.

NEWPORT BEACH - The courtroom sizzled with energy when Judge Matt Anderson took the bench on a recent Thursday afternoon.

Drug Court was in session. It's Anderson's favorite part of the week.

The gallery was packed with anxious participants, most of whom were awaiting progress reviews. One was graduating from the 18-month program.
