Shunned by his three bench colleagues, Tehama County Superior Court Judge John J. Garaventa has supporters in the legal community who criticize Red Bluff's court clique.

Tehama County Superior Court Judge John J. Garaventa is the odd man out on a four-man bench.

For years, he and the three other judges in the northern Sacramento Valley county haven't spoken. In 2006, the other three endorsed a local attorney to replace Garaventa in a retention election.

The effort failed and voters endorsed Garaventa by 70 percent of the vote.
