FRESNO — Despite the victim’s family asking for the defendant’s freedom, Judge Houry Sanderson said she’d need more to convince her to agree to anything less than a plea deal of six years in prison.
The defendant, Brian Cappelluti, had been charged with gross vehicular manslaughter,driving drunk and crashing into a traffic light. His passenger was killed. Cappelluti rejected the deal in the hearing before Sanderson, and went to trial in another court, where he was convicted... (continued)
