Del Norte County (Crescent City)
A visitor to the northwest corner of California may see Del Norte County Superior Court Judge Darren McElfresh on his bicycle.
Or they may just a see a blur. In his younger days, McElfresh competed in five U.S. National Amateur and Professional Cycling Championships. He trained with and competed against the likes of three-time Tour de France winner Greg LeMond and Olympic medalist Leonard Nitz.
