SANTA ANA — Judge Maria Hernandez is launching a new calendar later this month for rehabilitating young adult defendants, an approach inspired by her eight years in juvenile court.

Much like dealing with juvenile delinquents, Orange County’s first Young Adult Court makes use of collaborative effort between various agencies and programs to address individual needs and reduce the likelihood of recidivism.
