INDIO — Before she applied for the bench, Judge Susanne Cho occasionally teased a white, male colleague for failing to land judicial appointments from several different governors.
“The joke was: ‘You’d be really upset because I’d get it right away,’” Cho said, grinning. “‘I’m a woman. I’m qualified academically. I’m Asian.’”
