SAN JOSE — “Furry little friends” is how some people might describe dogs or cats, but that’s how Judge Edward Lee refers to his pet bees.

“They’re just fun little creatures to play with,” he said.

By play, Lee means collecting and bottling honey. As for how he obtains his bees, they arrive at his front door, just like monthly bills.
