INGLEWOOD — Judge Patricia Titus had a tradition of handing out pencils to jurors once a trial was over.

“It had my name on it,” she said. “So I had run out of pencils and had just ordered a new set and where I ordered them from, you had to order like 1,000. You couldn’t break it up smaller.”
