PLACERVILLE — For Judge Jamie L. Pesce, the pandemic created an unexpected opportunity to streamline proceedings in family court, where she presides in her hometown.
As the El Dorado County Superior Court revised its procedures last March, a backlog of vacated matters with requests for orders swelled. By mid-May, Pesce had nearly 300 requests pending on her law and motion calendar. She needed to find a way to address it.... (continued)
