LOS ANGELES — When folk singer John Prine died last year, in the midst of stay-at-home orders, Judge Mark V. Mooney grabbed his mandolin and joined a music group of mostly judges and lawyers who met via Zoom once a week.

Mooney said he still meets with the Zoom group every Sunday to play Prine songs and other covers.
