REDWOOD CITY — San Mateo County Superior Court Judge V. Raymond Swope regards the courtroom as a “hallowed hall,” and that applies whether litigants and attorneys are there in person or on Zoom.

The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted a lot of Swope’s hearings to be held online, helping litigants and attorneys avoid unnecessary trips to the courthouse, he said.
