The Price - and Promise - of Freedom

The son of Vietnamese farmers, Nho Trong Nguyen has taken a complicated journey to the Orange Court Superior Court. Before being airlifted out of Saigon, he served as forester, soldier and congressman. Before becoming a judge, he worked as a welfare officer, computer analyst and state deputy attorney general. “My God,” he remarked, referring to a stint cleaning toilets, “I have freedom – freedom!”
