Appointed to Northern District in 2002, retired June 2018. Lloyd spent 30 years as a trial and appellate lawyer, first chairing 50 trials, spanning everything from employment and civil rights to contracts and intellectual property. He was the appellate specialist at Hoge Fenton Jones & Appel in San Jose, where he wrote briefs for 100 appeals.
