Howard B. Miller

Miller has been at the center of the California legal profession since he began his career as law clerk to Justice Roger J. Traynor of the Supreme Court of California in 1960-61 through and following his service as President of the State Bar of California in 2009-2010. He was for many years a professor of law at the USC Gould School of Law, and over decades litigated in trial and appeals in all areas of civil litigation in state and federal courts. He taught for over twenty years in a leading California bar review course, and has lectured widely and internationally, including at intellectual property and civil litigation conferences in China, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, South Korea and Mongolia, where he was also a Senior Advisor to the Mongolian Bar Association. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. In addition to his work as a contributing editor and podcast host for the Daily Journal he is a Mediator and Arbitrator at JAMS.
